Account Manager Groot-Bijgaarden


The Account Manager ensures the company’s growth in terms of sales, profits & customers base in Large accounts by developing the Foodservice channel in Belgium & Luxembourg in line with the Belux strategy. He is also building a commercial plan and the Group’s guidelines, actively promoting the Group’s and local product lines and creating a strong long term partnership to the assigned accounts.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Business Development of the Foodservice channel
    • Organize regular customer meetings to develop the business.
    • Mapping the Belux Food Servicer Industry and segmenting the actors in order to Identify new business opportunities (prospection)
    • Detecting products and customers at risk and taking actions to mitigate risks
    • Implementing appropriate solutions (existing and new ones) to help the Food Service industry being more succesfull
    • Giving customer presentations and seminars explaining benefits of our products and approach. Being capable of organizing short demo’s for customers or for the teams of the Foodservice distributors.
    • Participating actively in the Food Service strategy definition  in order to develop our business in this channel. This should be based on a good understanding of the Belgian Foodservice and HORECA landscape.
    • Coordinate projects between customers and internal stakeholders such as Marketing, R&D and Supply Chain.
  • Sales follow-up and administration
    • Coordinate and/or Negotiate the sales deals with the customer (pricing, delivery conditions etc…). Establish clear commercial agreements emphasizing the added value of the services provided by Puratos.
    • Follow up the sales results and if necessary take corrective actions
    • Report progress on the account on regular basis
    • Overall responsible for Total Profit & Loss of the accounts
    • Administrative follow-up by centralizing all commercial informations our CRM system: offers, orders, opportunities, visit reports.
    • Ensures good customer service level coordinating by working closely wxith the Supply Chain Team in order smooth order to cash process.
  • Trouble shooting at customers
    • Advise customers about our solutions that can help improving the quality, reduce costs or gain in terms of efficiency.
    • Support customers when they face difficulties in ordet to secure existing business or to develop new business opportunities
    • Associate different Puratos technologies in finished products to develop unique finished goods.
    • Take things in hands and be able to demonstrate customers on how to use our products (bakery, patisserie and chocolate) by sharing videos, advices or by giving small demos,…
  • Build expertise & network in specialty area
    • Develop together with marketing department a complete adapted product range for Foodservice (assortment, look and feel, packaging,…)
    • Becoming leading expert in the product range by field experience.
    • Building around the expertise an active network of high commercial value of customers
    • Exchange information about best practices with colleagues

Who are we looking for?

  •  You have an university degree or equivalent by experience. Bakery diploma,  Bachelor in Food science or scientific background are a plus.
  •   You have between 5 and 10 years of experience in sales or Food Service sector at similar position.
  • You have a passion for food and sales with some notions of marketing
  • You speak Dutch fluently and have a very good knowledge of French and English.
  • You are ready to travel around Belgium to meet your clients on a regular base.
